2012. David has been alive in two different years. He doesn’t seem impressed yet, but he hasn’t seen the flying cars.
We have immense hopes for the coming year, the most important of which is that our family be happy and healthy. The court in Florida has signed off on our physical custody of David, granted us financial responsibility for him, and verified the termination of the birthparents’ parental rights. That just leaves finalization this spring, when the court in Florida awards us full legal custody and we get David’s official birth certificate.
Your support and company have been invaluable throughout this process. We have greatly enjoyed having visitors, and you are welcome to come by any day between noon and 8 pm. Since we sometimes have errands or appointments, you may want to call first to make sure we’re here. We are also happy to make specific plans ahead of time.
For 2012, we wish you as much joy as us, and more sleep.
