No significant assets

In the court papers we have to file for finalizing David’s adoption this month, one paragraph notes that David has no significant assets. That got us thinking about the assets that we think David does have beyond a cute burble and awesome hair:
  • Parents who love him
  • An extended family and friends
  • A comfortable home and his own room
  • Clothes, books, and toys
  • A ton of baby gear
  • Health insurance
These feel like significant assets to us.

We’re not sure why the adoption agency and the judge feel it’s so important that we wait until after finalization before we open a bank account for David or save for his education in his name. But we are sure that his value is infinitely greater than his net worth.

Don't forget US Citizenship! And whatever immunizations he already has in
his little system!

Thanks,
