Never give up

Placing a child for adoption is an act of courage in difficult circumstances. Placing a child for adoption requires the birthparents to consider the needs of the child as well as their own needs. Placing a child for adoption requires faith and hope. And that’s why the language to describe adoption should not include the phrase “giving up a child for adoption.” The connotations are wrong, and the connotations matter deeply.
